A quintet from Tempe, Arizona, The Maine’s rise to fame did not take a long time. Thanks to their catchy instrumentals and lyrics, the band blew up the charts in less than two years. Front man John O’Callaghan (vocals), Garrett Nickelsen (bass), Kennedy Brock (guitar and vocals), Jared Monaco (guitar), and Pat Kirch (drums) have headlined tours such as the Alternative Press Tour 2009, been on the front of magazine covers, produced two CDs, and played international shows. The five members keep their fans updated via Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, PureVolume.com, and YouTube. News such as new tour dates, CDs or EPs, demos, etc. all get leaked on their websites. Since they have so many followers, the news about their band spreads like wildfire; therefore, causing the extreme popularity. Currently, The Maine has two CDs out, “The Way We Talk” and “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.” They also have released a single of their song “Into Your Arms,” which also has a professionally done music video. The Arizona quintet seems to have it all, including the potential and the understanding of what it takes to sell in the music industry today.
